Settling In
Before your child starts at nursery we offer settle-in sessions to ensure your child feels at their most confident and comfortable when they start nursery.  This is where you will get to meet your Key Person.
Key Person
This person is assigned to you and your child and provides any information you may need to create a strong bond making you all feel well settled within the nursery.  Your key person will complete any observations on your child and help them along with their learning and development.
Makaton
We use this system within the nursery to encourage children to develop their language and communication.  Some staff are trained in this area and help the children to follow a routine to ensure they have a well balanced day and to allow them to feel at ease and well settled.
Healthy Eating
All of our lunches are freshly prepared on site, using only the finest ingredients from locally sourced farms.  We ensure that all children follow a healthy diet and that at least five fruit and vegetables are included in their day.  We provide breakfast, snacks, lunch and tea for all children and ensure that all ethnic groups are catered for within our meals.
Active Lives
We are firm believers in the importance of play and keeping children active.  We have secure outdoor play areas and ensure that all children develop their physical education alongside their intellectual development.
Creche
If you are a Club Kingswood member and are using the club facilities you are welcome to place your child in the crèche.  Crèche hours are as follow 9:30am to 11:30am.  You may book your child for a one or two hour session at anytime between these hours.  We ask that parents book their place at least a week in advance.

The Little Acorns room is for children aged from 3months to 2 years and has a calm, homely environment where children can feel safe and secure with plenty of sensory experiences for babies to explore.  We have our very own sensory area where babies and young children can feel excited and intrigued by many different possibilities within their play and exploration.  We complete many different activities thoughtout the day to keep all children busy and excited about the prospect of nursery.

Little Acorns uses a key person system to ensure that every child has that some one special to go to.Within Little Acorns we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum allowing young children to learn through fun and challenging activities with adult guidance and freedom of choice.

Little Acorns can have up to twelve children per day and has a ratio of one adult for every three children within the room, all staff are experienced qualified and police checked. We aim to continue the care routine all young babies have at home as we believe it is important for children to feel settled within the nursery and as comfortable as possible this way we provide children with the comfort of knowing mummy and daddy are never to far away.

Little Oaks

We have 16 children aged 2-5 years, with a ratio of one adult for every four children aged between two and three; and one adult for every eight children aged between three and four.  We pride ourself on having a welcoming environment where children can strive to be the best they can be - learn, create and make friends, becoming confident individuals that enjoy new experiences.

Within the room we have our play and explorations areas where children are free to choose activities and become involved in exciting imaginative play.  We also have our art and education room where children can spend time with their key person creating pictures and learning letters numbers and words, as well as following the Early Years Foundation - Stage C.
