Special Education Needs (SEN) at Club Kingswood Nursery

Here at Club Kingswood Nursery we believe in inclusion for disabled children and children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).  We are a multi-cultural Nursery that celebrates our similarities and differences.  All staff are well trained, friendly and fun.

The Nursery is accessible with parking directly outside and is close to the A13 and Basildon Hospital.

On joining the Nursery you will be given the opportunity for your child to attend settles where you and your child will meet the Club Kingswood Nursery Family.

We strive to provide an environment in which all children are supported to reach their full potential and have lots of fun doing so.  Using the EYFS ( Early years foundation stage) we plan with your child's specific needs in mind.  Each child has a learning journal recording your child's journey in Nursery which we share with you as parent's and ask that you share with us information about your child's development at home.  This allows the SENCO, the ENCO and all Key workers to identify any specific learning outcomes and plan accordingly.

We aim to offer excellence and choice to all of our children regardless of their abilities, religion, culture or back ground to ensure they feel valued within the Nursery environment.  All staff respond to the child's; parents; careers and family members needs.

The Nursery ensures that we are up to date on regulations regarding Policies and Procedures, offering our staff regular training such as safe guarding and first aid.

We use a variety of resources and practices such as 'see and learn' and 'Makaton'

Club Kingswood Nursery liaises with a number of outside agencies according to the needs of the children in our setting.

Records are kept of all children confidentially.

The role of the SENCO within the nursery is to manage the day to day operation of the SEN policy, making colleagues, parents and carers aware of all policies and supply knowledge and support where needed.
